Film plot

Five years after the NATO-led campaign against Yugoslav Army Troops, one million Kosovars returned to their destroyed homes and began their daily struggle. Lack of jobs, extreme poverty, political instability, inconsistent electricity and water supply are some of these problems. While in 1999 people were happy to find freedom, five years later they found themselves disillusioned and angry. Six alternative music bands try to express all of these emotions through music and performance.

Ylber Mehmedaliu is co-director of Shuffle. He is a film director and cameraman from Prishtina, Kosovo. Ylber graduated from the Arts Academy of the University of Prishtina (graduation show: Best Student Prize - photography and design) and also studied History of Art in Norway (Oslo University). His film-making credits include director, camera and story for the 30-minute fiction film GRACE, shot in Amsterdam, Budapest, and Paris. He has directed music videos and was cameraman for a documentary about Julian Schnabel (New York). He has travelled across Europe and in America, China, Mongolia, and Russia, collecting film material. As an artist, he participated in a 1997 exhibition of new talent, Perspectiva 97 and his Be Safe, Stop Corruption video-art featured in the provocative Sexhibition show held in Prishtina in 2005.

Edon Rizvanolli has worked as a theatre actor in Austria since 1993. He finished his acting and directing classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in N.Y.C. in 1999. He worked as a radio director for the ORF. He wrote two screenplays, one documentary and one feature, which were subsidized by the Austrian Film Institute and the Austrian Ministry of Culture. In March 2001 he was the local production manager for 'Kosova Transit', the 3SAT, ORF and HUMER FILM documentary co-production. He works as a cameraman, editor and post-production designer.
