The Travelling Festival on Human Rights – VIVISECTfest

Topic: War in the Former Yugoslavia – View from Inside and Outside

In 2005 and 2006, the programme of the "War in the Former Yugoslavia – View from Inside and Outside" Travelling Festival was implemented in co-operation with local partners in Inđija, Belgrade, Kikinda, Sombor, Bačka Palanka, Novi Bečej, Novi Pazar, Ruma and Stara Pazova (Serbia); Tuzla, Mostar, and Sarajevo (B&H); Berlin (Germany); and Skopje (FYR Macedonia).

Within the Travelling Festival on Human Rights – VIVISECTfest the following programmes have been implemented:

Exhibition of war photographs War in the Former Yugoslavia – View from Inside and Outside by photojournalists from the territory of the former Yugoslavia and abroad: Darko Bandić (Croatia), Martin Candir (Vojvodina/Serbia), David I. Gross (Mimetic), Diego A. Gomez (Slovenia), Boris Grdanoski (FYR Macedonia), Ron Haviv (Agency VII), Visar Kryeziu (Kosovo), Danilo Krstanović (B&H), Gary Knight (Agency VII), Borut Krajnc (Slovenia), Paul Lowe (Panos Pictures), Massimo Sciacca (Contrasto), Tone Stojko (Slovenia), Andrew Testa (Panos Pictures), and Barbara Čeferin (Slovenia).

Film review within which the following films were screened: Koča Pavlović - War for Peace; Fade In –  Growing up of the 'V' Generation; Šahin Šišić –  The Planet Sarajevo; Maja Weiss –  The Balkan Gunfighters and The Road of Fraternity and Unity;  Nenad Puhovski – Pavilion 22; Janko Baljak – The Anatomy of Pain; Dan Reed – The Valley; Jody Barrett, Maria Mok, Maasja Ooms – Kosovo/a;  Vlado Dencov – The Long Straight Furrow; Marija Gajicki – Vivisect ; Helena Koder –  Refugee Centre; Ivan Andrijanić and Ivan Stefanović –  When You Burn, Burn It Better; Boris Mitić – Pretty Dyana; Sead and Nihad Kreševljaković, Nedim Alikadić–  Do You Remember Sarajevo?; Franci Slak – The Birth of a  Nation; Dubravko Badalić – There Were We Departed;  Igor Zupe – It's alive, Laibach Occupied Europe NATO Tour; Aldin Arnautović and Refik Hodžić – Justice Unseen; YII Citaku – Should I Stay or Should I Go.

Exhibition of applied posters on the topic Farewell to Arms, Farewell to Wars by the students of the Arts Academy in Novi Sad, and the engaged poster creative workshop, whose joint aim was to make young people take an active role in the process of facing the past.

Interactive exhibition Lay Down Your Arms, Farewell to Arms, Farewell to Wars which also included a board with the inscription "A man sings after the war" by Dušan Vasiljev, and a space for leaving all those things which remind people of war, which they want to give away for good.

The tribune titled How to End War? to open the discussion on the reasons which make the process of facing the events that happened in the recent past in the territory of the former Yugoslavia so difficult.

The programme of the VIVISECTfest Travelling Festival was implemented owing to Anita Beretić, Member of the Serbian Parliament and the Democratic Party.

Berlin

The programme of the VIVISECTfest Travelling Festival was implemented in co-operation with the Balkan Black Box Festival, owing to Uta Zapft, Aleksandar Ivkovac, Petra Blass and the German Embassy in Belgrade.
