Massimo Sciacca
Since 1990, he has been involved with photojournalism both in Italy and abroad: the beginning of the war in ex-Yugoslavia and the first elections in Albania. In 1993 he went to Bosnia for the first time where he worked on a reportage about the life of the Bosnian youth under siege. He is now working on a project about the new realities of Italian youth, the conflicts in Kurdistan, and the 1997 revolutions in Albania. Recently he documented the conflict in Kosovo and the disorder in East Timor. Winner of the World Press Photo in 1997 and of the Premio Linea D’Ombra in 1998. He has worked extensively on squatters who are young artists marginalized from Italian society and held a large exhibition in Bologna in 2000. Sciacca has been with Contrasto since 1998.
