David I. Gross

He studied philosophy at UC Berkeley, graduating in 1990. After working as an art director in Prague and Silicon Valley, he fled to the business world, and in 1999 he found himself driving into Kosovo behind German NATO tanks. He has been working on a project about the search for missing people since then. His latest work is from Iraq, where he was taking photographs of the mass graves, and in the north, of the changing Kurdish military. Gross is working on a book about the search for missing people. He was awarded with World Press Photo2003, 2^nd Place Science. He exhibited his photographs at World Press Photo 2003, Dokufest 2003.
