The exhibition 8.5 Days of the Applied Poster
The exhibition 8.5 Days of the Applied Poster was organised in Novi Sad between February 23rd and March 3rd, 2007 in the Tableau Gallery.
The exhibition was organised in three phases:
- From 23rd-26th February, applied posters by the students of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad were exhibited. Their topics were "Farewell to Arms, Farewell to Wars" and "My Enemies: Nationalism and Xenophobia", created in 2005 and 2006.
- From 27th February-1st March, works created at applied poster creative workshops were exhibited. The workshops were organised within the Travelling Human Rights Festival – VIVISECTfest in 2005 and 2006. The creative workshops were also held in Kikinda, Belgrade, Bačka Palanka, Ruma, Novi Bečej, Tuzla and Skopje. Works created at the first International ART Tremafest Camp in Ruma, organised in Ruma in September 2006 were also exhibited.
- From 2nd-3rd March, promotional material (posters, flyers, T-shirts and publications) related to the Human Rights Festival – VIVISECTfest, and made between 2004 and 2006 was also exhibited. VIVISECTfest’s promotional material was designed by: Stevan Blagojev, Željko Katanić, Bojan Miljanović, Jovan Trkulja, Filip Bojović, Katarina Balažikova, Darko Vuković and Laslo Antal.
Within this festival segment, photographs from 15 towns and cities in which the Travelling Festival VIVISECTfest programme was implemented were exhibited. In 2005 and 2006, the programme of the first edition of the VIVISECTfest on the topic "War in the former Yugoslavia – View from Inside and Outside", and of the second edition of the VIVISECTfest on the topic "My Enemies: Nationalism and Xenophobia" was implemented in the following towns and cities: Novi Sad, Indjija, Belgrade, Kikinda, Sombor, Bačka Palanka, Novi Bečej, Novi Pazar, Ruma, Stara Pazova, Tuzla, Mostar, Sarajevo, Skopje and Berlin.
Within this programme, on February 24th, 2007 in the premises of the Executive Board of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina in Novi Sad a meeting was held in the presence of the partners of the VIVISECTfest from the towns where the Travelling Festival programme was implemented in 2005 and 2006. The aim of the meeting with the local partners from the towns where the Travelling Festival programme was implemented was to help them share experience gathered so far, and to meet each other, all coming from different surroundings. In addition to the partners from the towns where the programmes have already been implemented in 2005 and 2006 new partners, who would like to organise the Travelling Festival programmes, were also present.
Two lectures were also delivered:
- How Much I know About Human Rights (lecturer – Danica Todorov, Deputy Provincial Ombudsman of Vojvodina in charge of Women’s Human Rights)
- Contribution of the Applied Poster to the promotion of Human Rights (lecturers – Laslo Antal and Filip Nemet, students of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad).
